CLASSES

The following courses are available at the Kerala Kathatkali Centre:
Short and long-term courses, suited to the needs of the individual, are available in either a private or group setting (limited to 12 participants).

Kathakali
Kathakali Dance, Kathakali Music, & Kathakali Make-Up.

Besides giving the necessary training in Kathakali, courses teach genuine artistic skills which are also found in other well-known traditional art forms. More than any other art form, Kathakali encompasses action, drama, unique costumes, a combination of musical instruments and voice, and a combination of talents.

Classical Dance
Bharathanatyam, Kutchipudi and Mhohiniyattam.

Kalaripayattu
(Martial Arts)

Classical Music
Instruction in both Karnatic (South Indian style) & Hindustani (North Indian style) music is available at Kerala Kathakali Centre. Classes are available for the following instruments:

Vocals

Percussion: Drum (Chenda), Madalam, Mrudungam, Tabala & Gingira.

Strings: Violin, Veena & Sithar.

Wind: Flute.
